As a matter of good business, Identity Direct and its related companies recognise your need for appropriate protection and management of any personally identifiable information you share with us.

What kind of personal information does Identity Direct collect and how do we collect it?

Identity Direct collects a range of personal information from members of the public. 

Identity Direct collects most information directly from you. We collect this information so you can request a product or service from Identity Direct, seek employment, or communicate with Identity Direct by email, telephone or in writing. 

Sometimes, Identity Direct may be provided with personal information about an individual from a third party, for example from a third Party who purchase  a gift for you, or when you give your details to one of our marketing partners, for example entering a competition via social media

In general, the type of personal information Identity Direct collects and holds could include (but is not limited to):

To provide products or services which are requested from Identity Direct, including personalised products, competition entry and advertising services; 

To help Identity Direct manage and enhance its products and services;

Identity Direct maintains a customer and marketing database which holds customer marketing preferences including opt ins to mail, and email marketing lists. Identity Direct adheres to best practice in email marketing. We are CAN-SPAM compliant and do not send unsolicited marketing emails.

With your permission, Identity Direct may provide your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. 

In many cases where Identity Direct asks you to provide Identity Direct with information about yourself, if you do not provide Identity Direct with that information, Identity Direct may not be able to provide you with the relevant product or service.

Our use of Cookies through Identity Direct Websites

Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. Our cookies do not contain any personally identifying information, but they do enable us to provide the functionality you require when visiting Identity Direct Websites (for example, to place items in your shopping cart) and personalising your Internet experience.

Identity Direct Websites Log Files

Like most standard Web site servers we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyse trends, administer the site, track user's movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. Our log files do not link IP addresses, etc. to personally identifiable information. 

To whom might Identity Direct disclose Personal Information?

Identity Direct may disclose personal information it collects about you to a related company to fulfil your request. For example, your details will be shared with our shipping partners to deliver your order. The company to which information is disclosed is bound to use it for the same purpose as the information was collected, unless otherwise permitted by law. 

Identity Direct may also provide your information to other companies or individuals Identity Direct engages to perform functions on behalf of Identity Direct, such as, customer service, mailing of products, processing of credit card information, receiving orders, mailing of information, data analysis, telemarketing, research, and advertising who may be located locally or internationally. Specifically, Identity Direct has Manufacturing and/or Customer Service partners in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, United States and Canada and in the process of fulfilling or managing your order information may be transferred between these sites. We have agreements in place with these partners to ensure the security and privacy of your data.

Identity Direct may provide your information to anyone you authorise Identity Direct to disclose information to or disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site. 

Identity Direct may decide to buy or sell assets which form part of or relate to its business. In any such transaction, personal information will usually be one of the transferred assets and will be disclosed to the purchaser. 

How does Identity Direct treat Sensitive Information?

Identity Direct will not store personal information longer than necessary. Where Identity Direct no longer requires any personal information that it holds, that personal information will be destroyed or Identity Direct will remove from it any details that will identify individuals. 

You have the right to check what Personal Information Identity Direct holds about you.

You have the right to obtain access to any personal information which Identity Direct holds about you and to advise Identity Direct of any perceived inaccuracy. There are some exceptions to this right, which are governed by the appropriate laws within each country. 

To make a request to access any information Identity Direct holds about you, please contact the Privacy Officer at Identity Direct in writing via our Contact Us page. Identity Direct will require you to verify your identity and specify what information you require. Identity Direct may charge a fee to cover the cost of verifying your application and locating, retrieving, reviewing and copying any material requested. If the information sought is extensive, Identity Direct will advise of the likely cost in advance and can help to refine your request if required.
